My daughter and my muse, she is truly a modern girl and I'm loving watch her grow.

A flock of cockatoos were standing in this field as we drove past on a road trip to Victoria over the New Year. Unfortunately we disturbed them and they fled, the shot I really wanted was of the long grass with 200 feathery skulls peeking out between the wheat heads - I had the wrong lens on hand and must teach the Kombie to sneak up on wildlife (it has a bit too much of a throaty throttle).

For two years running I have been lucky enough to photograph the gorgeous kids at my son's playgroup within the historic walls of St. Mark's Anglican church in Hunters Hill, it being the oldest building in the suburb already dripping with early settler sandstone structures. St. Mark's has beautiful stained glass windows which are featured as a backdrop in the portraits. The leader of the playgroup, Pamela, is a dynamic, retired lawyer, mother, widow and active community member who will readily coax a person out of their shell and delegate them a task which suits their abilities. She has led me on to create a wonderful collection of portraits, and together we organise an annual Christmas card to be sold within the church community which helps raise funds for the playgroup and get my work circulating and my spirits up.

Thank you to the mums who allowed me to photograph their gorgeous children and in 2010 the best photos of the two years will be available as a deluxe set of Christmas Cards, available via this website and St. Mark's playgroup. I will miss them as Charlie moves on next year to pre-school and wish them continuing success and recommend them to anyone in the Hunters Hill vicinity.
